On Sept 4th 2017, Bangalore Mirror, a leading newspaper featured Pawsome in a special Sunday section on International Pet Travel.
Devyani Jadhav, co-founder of Pawsome.in was quoted
"For many pet parents travelling with pets to another country is a confusing, stressful and worrisome scenario. Most of them are in need of guidance in order to make the trip safe and smooth"
Pawsome had helped Garima Chopra in January 2017 to take her pets to London. Her experience was also mentioned in the article.
Take Garima Chopra. Chopra was employed with Infosys in Bengaluru before moving to the UK in September 2016. She had been involved with animal welfare and rescue groups in Bengaluru since 2015, and worked with her husband Ajesh Singh to help with the relocation of their dog Laika and four cats – Drogo, Daario, Snow and Charlie (“some fans can spot the Game of Thrones influence in the names,” she chuckles). In fact, Singh stayed back in India for four months and took care of all relocation documentation, moving to the UK along with the pets only in January 2017. The process and the preparation hasn’t deterred her. “We plan to move back to India after a few years. All our pets are rescues, and adopted. We intent to make them travel as well, as our life circumstances change,” Chopra says.
Chopra sought help from Devyani Jadhav. For the UK, the process required a Rabies Titer Test, as the UK is a rabies-free country. Since India is unlisted for pet relocation in the UK, the test needs to be taken at least a month after the rabies vaccination is given, and the pet needs to stay in India (or a government quarantine in the UK) for 90 days before being cleared to live in the UK.
Jadhav manually fitted Chopra and Singh’s pets’ five cages with toilet paper lining, water and food bowls, and additional screws for added safety and to comply with regulations.
