PET EXPORT from India to Australia

In the last five years, we have done multiple pet dog and cat relocations from India to Australia via a mid-country like Singapore, & Netherlands.

First step is to Microchip your pet - It is essential for the pets to be microchipped with ISO 15 digit microchip. This is a veterinary procedure and can be done by any local vet. Vaccinations - The pet should be vaccinated with Anti-Rabies and DHPPiL (for dogs) / Tri-feline (for cats) Vaccines without any lapse in any recent years.

Rabies Titre test - Australia requires pets to be tested for Rabies. This test can be done any time after 30 days of your pet getting vaccinated. The samples should be tested at Australia approved laboratories only. Assuming test results are within acceptable limits, your pet can enter Australia anytime after 6 months after the date the blood for titre test was drawn. Mid-country - Pets from India cannot travel directly to Australia. They have to travel to an approved mid-country like Singapore/Netherlands, stay there for a minimum of 2 months and then travel to Australia from there.

Other tests - In the mid-country, the pet needs to undergo several blood tests required for Australia. Assuming test results are within acceptable limits, your pet can enter Australia within a stipulated time.

10 days quarantine - Any pet traveling to Australia is subjected to 10 days quarantine in Govt Quarantine Facility. The facility needs to be booked and paid in advance.

Documentation - Various documents will need to be made from India including the Export Permit from Indian Quarantine Office. Our Service Charges would include all the export documentation. Modes of Transport - There are mainly two modes of transport. Accompanied Excess Baggage (passenger required) and Manifest Cargo (passenger not required). Please go through the article link describing modes of pet transport. In the Cargo mode - Pet travels separately in another flight than the passenger. Pets can leave India after the owner has left India. Cargo mode is safe and widely used for pet transportation.

Agent in Australia & mid-country - If the pet travels as Cargo, then an agent is required in Australia and mid-country (Singapore/Netherlands). Over the years, we have developed strong relationships with many pet relocation agents and we will be happy to recommend one for your need.

Airlines - Not all airlines accept pets. Many airlines have certain restrictions on size and weight of the pets that they can take. For signed up clients, we provide them with all the relevant flight options.
