In the last two years, we have relocated 100+ pets from India to European countries like UK, Germany, Sweden, Netherlands, Switzerland, Czech Republic and Bulgaria.
The rules and regulations for pet export from India to European countries are quite similar with minor differences for countries like UK, Switzerland.
Titre test & Quarantine requirements - European countries require pets to be tested for Rabies coming from India. This test can be done anytime after 30 days of your pet getting vaccinated. The samples should be tested at only EU approved laboratories. Assuming test results are within acceptable limits, your pet can enter European destination only after 3 months after the date the blood for titre test was drawn.
Microchip required - It is essential for the pets to be microchipped with ISO 15 digit microchip. This is a veterinary procedure and can be done by any local vet. Ideally, the pets should be microchipped before vaccination. You may buy the microchip from this link and take it to your vet for getting it injected. Insist on a microchip certificate from vet.
Vaccinations - The pet should be vaccinated with Anti-Rabies and DHPPiL (for dogs) / Tri-feline (for cats) Vaccines without any lapse in any recent years.
Documentation - Various documents will need to be made from India including the Export Permit from Indian Quarantine Office. Our Service Charges would include all the export documentation. Once you sign up with us, we will send you the formats, templates, samples of the documents required to be made.
Pet crate - Crates depend upon size of the pet and also the mode of travel selected. We also sell travel crates and we can guide you on which size crates would be adequate for your pet.
Modes of Transport - There are mainly two modes of transport. Accompanied Excess Baggage (passenger required) and Manifest Cargo (passenger not required). Please go through the article link describing modes of pet transport. Pawsome also offers a PREMIUM PET ESCORT service for taking pets from India to US. In this case, a trained pet handler from our team flies with the pet as Accompanied Excess Baggage to the US and comes back.
Airlines - Not all airlines accept pets. Many airlines have certain restrictions on size and weight of the pets that they can take. For signed up clients, we provide them with relevant flight options too.
Sign up with Pawsome: Our clients usually sign up with us at least a month or more in advance of their travel. This ensures enough time for bookings, paperwork and hassle free smooth process. The sign up includes payment of a non-refundable retainer amount which gets adjusted in our service charges, and signing our Terms & Conditions document.
